Facets of Integrability: Random Patterns, Stochastic Processes, Hydrodynamics, Gauge Theories and Condensed Matter Systems
Attendee List Schedule PDF Download Poster Workshop PhotosOrganized by: Ilia Binder, Andrei Okounkov, Alexander Abanov, Eldad Bettelheim, Ilya Gruzberg, Seung-Yeop Lee and Razvan Teodorescu
Once mathematicians got interested in random matrix theory two decades ago, it was recognized that methods previously used in integrable non-linear equations, could also be applied to random matrices and problems related to free fermions. Similar structures exist in random processes, and these methods effectively link several disciplines together. However, the methods and the related matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem did not so far nd their way into the growing eld of random processes governed by conformal invariance. The goal of this workshop is to narrow this gap. The workshop will focus on various applications of techniques of integrable non-linear systems to random matrices, Dyson diusion, and counting problems of various geometrical objects arising in random processes, among other topics.
The workshop will focus on application of integrable structures of quantum and classical systems to various modern topics in geometry, combinatorics and stochastic processes.
The goal of this workshop is to narrow gaps between seemingly different disciplines in mathematics and physics which share similar integrable structures. The second part of the workshop will be on new applications of integrability in conformal field theories, gauge theory, and non-equilibrium phenomena. It will also include a celebration of Paul Wiegmann’s 60th birthday, organized by A. Abanov, E. Bettelheim, I. Gruzberg, S.-Y. Lee and R. Teodorescu.
This workshop will be a part of the Spring 2013 program Conformal Geometry, Organized by Ilia Binder, John Cardy, Andrei Okounkov, and Paul Wiegmann
