Hosting an event at the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics
The Simons Center for Geometry and Physics is a research center devoted to furthering fundamental knowledge in mathematics and theoretical physics. Each year the SCGP supports multiple scientific programs and workshops focused on activities of common interest to mathematicians and physicists in addition to a host of research seminars, colloquia, and lecture series geared toward faculty and advanced graduate students.

Hosting an event with the SCGP Café
The SCGP Café endeavors to provide the Stony Brook University community with a place to gather and exchange ideas over a wholesome and delicious meal. The Café’s Chef and staff take great care in sourcing ingredients, and developing relationships with purveyors, local farms, and the community in an effort to serve genuine, thoughtfully prepared food that nourishes the mind. The SCGP Café offers breakfast and lunch, as well as catering for on and off campus events. Reservations of lecture and other event spaces in the Simons Center may be available in conjunction with SCGP Café catering.

Proposing an exhibition for the Simons Center Gallery
The Simons Center’s Art Program is dedicated to enriching the intellectual lives of its members and visitors, and to establishing the Center as a venue for world-class science-inspired artistic exhibitions, music, lectures, and events of interest. It is an evolving and dynamic program benefiting the entire Stony Brook University campus and local/regional community at large. The Art Program’s goals include hosting the highest quality and intellectually inquisitive art by internationally acclaimed artists working at the intersection of art, science, and technology. The exhibitions and events at the Center feature artistic and scientific concepts accessible through a broad range of media for meaningful experiences that ignite imagination and inspire ideas.

Proposing a speaker for the Della Pietra Lecture Series
The Della Pietra Lecture Series aims to bring world-renowned scientists to the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics to enhance the intellectual activity of the Center and also bring greater awareness of recent and impactful discoveries in Physics and Mathematics to the Long Island community, in particular to high school, undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in the sciences.
