Abstract: The mass deformation of N=4 super-Yang-Mills (SYM) theory, known as N=2* SYM, is the simplest non-conformal QFT with a known holographic dual. Some observables in the N=2* theory are calculable by localization at any coupling strength, and can be confronted with holographic predictions at strong coupling. On the way from weak to strong coupling, the theory undergoes an infinite sequence of large-N phase transitions, whose holographic interpretation is not quite clear at the moment.
