It is with great sadness that we reflect on the loss of Professor Isadore Singer:
Is Singer was a friend and colleague of many at the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics. He played an important role in the creation of the Simons Center and was the founding co-chairman of its Board of Trustees. His achievements in mathematics are extraordinary, and he was also someone who represented the interplay between geometry and physics. Throughout his life he maintained an ongoing fertile dialogue with the theoretical physics community. He was a source of inspiration, and it was a privilege to count on his help, support and advice at the beginning of the Center.
Singer passed away on February 11th, 2021. We wish to express our deepest condolences to his family and colleagues on behalf of the Simons Center community.
