Celebrating 20 Years
July 3–August 25, 2023
Curated by Martin Roček and Lorraine Walsh
The Simons Center Gallery
Simons Center for Geometry and Physics (SCGP)
Stony Brook University, NY 11794

The Simons Center for Geometry and Physics is pleased to present photographs and video spanning 20 years at the Simons Summer Workshop. The workshop’s scientific organizer Cumrun Vafa (Harvard), and the local organizer Martin Roček (C.N. Yang Institute for Theoretical Physics), have overseen and managed the workshop since its inception. And the event is supported and coordinated by the outstanding SCGP staff.

The Simons Summer Workshop is the fifteenth conducted by the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics at Stony Brook University, and the twentieth in the Simons Summer Workshops series. This year, the workshop celebrates its 20th anniversary with a variety of past speakers for a reunion and update on their current interests and research.

Featured in the gallery are photographs from each year (with the exception of 2003 and 2014). And there was no workshop of course during the pandemic year 2020. The varied pictures depict the participants at both work and play—at the blackboard, the whiteboard, and splashing in the ocean.
