Abstract: I will review the kinetic theory description of chiral fermions, which is suitable for systems that possess weakly interacting quasi-particles. In this picture, the chiral anomaly is captured by the Berry phase. In particular, I will focus on the Chiral Magnetic and Vortical Effects and discuss the conditions for their existence in condensed matters systems such as Weyl semimetals.
