A Workshop on Challenges at the Interface of Hitchin Systems and String Theory: March 18 – 22, 2019

Attendee ListScheduleDanfords ShuttleView Videos

Organized by Lara Anderson and Laura Schaposnik

Co-organized by Rafe Mazzeo and Tony Pantev

The workshop will be devoted to recent exciting developments related to Higgs bundles and the Hitchin fibration, and string theory. The purpose of the workshop is to bring key leading researchers of related fields together with young researchers to establish new directions and investigate shared challenges at the interface of physics and mathematics — including the theory of Hitchin Systems and singular geometry within string theory.

This workshop is associated with the program Geometry and Physics of Hitchin Systems: January 22 – June 21, 2019

The weekend before this workshop there will be a Workshop on the Geometry and Physics of Higgs bundles IV.  More information about this can be found here: https://schapos.people.uic.edu/Higgs-2019.html
