Christina Sormani Selected as 2025 AAAS Fellow

This is a headshot of Christina SormaniChristina Sormani is one of only ten mathematicians selected as 2025 AAAS Fellow. She was honored for “distinguished contributions to the field of geometric analysis and the development of new notions of convergence to measure geometric stability with applications to mathematical general relativity.” She is on sabbatical from CUNY visiting SCGP for 2025-2026 Academic Year. Here she was a co-organizer of the 2025 SCGP program Geometry and Convergence in Mathematical General Relativity and a co-organizer of the
SCGP Workshop: Geometric Measure Theory on Metric Spaces with Applications to Physics and Geometry (Sept 15-19, 2025).

She is a professor at CUNYGC and Lehman College who has often visited SCGP in the past (organizing two prior workshops here and attending many others). She is also a fellow of the American Mathematical Society. She would like to thank the SCGP for the many opportunities to visit and attend talks over the years.
