Abstract: A five-dimensional approach to six-dimensional (2,0) theories is discussed, that makes use of towers of massive five-dimensional tensors in a Kaluza-Klein inspired fashion. We study the coupling of such massive tensors to Chern-Simons theories and we investigate one-loop effects in these models. Our results allow us to establish a connection between six-dimensional anomalies and five-dimensional shifts in Chern-Simons levels. Finally, a five-dimensional supersymmetric Lagrangian with tensor towers is proposed to furnish a description of non-Abelian (2,0) theories.
