2025 Summer Concerts
The Art and Outreach Program at the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics at Stony Brook University is pleased to present a new music series free and open to the public:
Thursday July 10
Piano Performance by Liya Nigmati. Artist Bio
4:00 – 5:00 pm: Concert in the Della Pietra Family Auditorium, room 103
About the Program:
In Entangled Worlds, Liya Nigmati explores a landscape of emotional contrast, stylistic duality, and unexpected affinity. This isn’t a historical timeline of composers, but rather a constellation of moments. Grouped thematically rather than chronologically, the pieces echo each other like particles entangled across space and time—distant yet intrinsically linked. Nigmati invites the audience to experience not just a concert, but a conversation among worlds that either collide or compliment each other. Weaving a dazzling program that spans Gluck to Scriabin, Chopin to Joplin—creating unexpected bridges across centuries and styles— and framed by poetic narration and theatrical nuance, the concert reimagines classical recital as a story of interconnection, emotion, and artistic surprise. Program includes pieces by C. W. Gluck, C. Debussy, E. Granados, W. A. Mozart, S. Scriabin, A. Vivaldi, F. Chopin and others.
