Organized by:

  • Rouven Essig (Stony Brook University)
  • Patrick Meade (Stony Brook University)
  • Luis Alvarez-Gaume (Simons Center for Geometry and Physics)

This SCGP/YITP workshop celebrates the extraordinary scientific achievements of Professor George Sterman, a leading figure in theoretical physics whose contributions have fundamentally shaped our understanding of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) and the strong force. As a member of the SCGP Board of Trustees from its inception and as Director of the Yang Institute for Theoretical Physics (YITP) at Stony Brook since 2001, George’s influence extends far beyond his groundbreaking research to his pivotal role shepherding the YITP for the last ~25 years and in helping establish and nurture the SCGP’s mission.

Event activity is planned for Tuesday, May 19th and Wednesday, May 20th only.
