SCGP HOUSING
What are the Housing Options?
Please take a look at the types of housing we have available. For any specific questions, please email housing@scgp.stonybrok.edu.
When will I receive my housing confirmation and assignment?
Once you confirm your participation in a Program or Workshop, you will receive a confirmation email with your arrival and departure date. Our housing coordinator will arrange your local accommodations. You will receive your housing assignment, access information, and any pertinent house information 2-3 weeks before your arrival.
What should I do if I need to cancel or change my housing assignment?
If you are no longer able to attend, or will be arriving later than your scheduled check in date, this must be communicated to housing@scgp.stonybrook.edu prior to your arrival and with at least 24-48 hour notice.
How do I gain access to my assigned room/house?
You will receive instructions prior to your arrival. If you feel that you missed an email or confirmation, please feel free to email housing@scgp.stonybrook.edu.
What are the house rules and emergency contact?
Please visit our Rules and Policies for SCGP Housing. This information will also be available at each of our houses.
What if I need to bring my spouse/partner/children with me?
HOUSING IS FOR PARTICIPANT ONLY. If you are planning to bring any accompanying person(s), please respond right away so that alternative arrangements can be made. We cannot guarantee housing for your accompanying person(s) and our housing capacity is limited.

HOTELS
What Hotels are in the area and do they provide shuttle service?
Danfords Hotel and Marina – Port Jefferson, NY
Danfords is located in the heart of historic Port Jefferson, overlooking the marina. The hotel houses their restaurant, Ferryman’s Grille, is close to public transportation, restaurants, and a variety of shops. If you are driving, the hotel is 10 minutes from campus. ** Please note: Daily shuttles will be provided for workshop participants who are housed at Danfords.
Hilton Garden Inn – Stony Brook, NY
The Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook is located on the Stony Brook University campus and is within walking distance of the Simons Center. If you are driving, the hotel provides free parking to guests. The hotels have a 24-hour cancellation policy – if you are no longer able to attend or will be arriving later than your scheduled check in date, this must be communicated to housing@scgp.stonybrook.edu. Late cancellations will result in a hotel fee.

CHILDCARE & CAMPS
What kind of Child Care is available in the area?
Short-term daycare in the Stony Brook area is on a first-come, first-serve basis. You must contact the daycares and complete a registration/application. Space may be limited, depending on the time of year. SCGP does not handle daycare for visitors.
